Upon completion of this qualification, you will be equipped to:

  • Understand the anatomical & physiological components that is the foundation to your studies.
  • Screen, assess and monitor health-related fitness components or parameters.
  • Design, implement and monitor physical activity programmes for healthy individuals.
  • Promote and provide safe and effective physical activity participation to meet participants’ fitness requirements.
  • Provide advice on nutrition, wellness, and lifestyle habits and routines.
  • Have the knowledge for appropriate referral to other healthcare providers.
  • Manage and build a successful personal training business within a fitness center, at home, or online.

This course is accredited through the Department of Education by CATHSSETA and is recognised by REPSSA.

The course will equip students with both theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to successfully operate as a personal trainer. A student who has achieved this qualification will be able to: 1. Design and implement a physical activity programme for apparently healthy individuals, plus screen, assess and monitor health related fitness programmes, without direct supervision. 2. Promote and provide safe and effective physical activity participation to meet participant/s fitness requirements. In addition, this qualifying learner will have the knowledge for appropriate referral to other health care providers.
