This Pilates Instructor Course provides a strong foundation in the knowledge and skills needed to guide individuals and groups through safe, effective, and engaging Pilates sessions. Learners will develop a practical understanding of anatomy and physiology, gaining the ability to explain how muscles, bones, and joints work together during movement. This knowledge supports correct technique instruction and helps ensure the safe execution of Pilates exercises.
The course also builds essential instructional and assessment competencies. You will learn to plan and lead Pilates sessions with confidence, apply effective communication skills, and create a professional, supportive training environment. Learners are introduced to health-related fitness assessments, including accurate data recording, interpretation of results, and the principles of validity, reliability, and cultural sensitivity when working with clients.
In addition, the course covers programme recommendation and fundamental nutritional principles to support holistic wellness. You will learn to assess physical activity readiness, select appropriate exercise programmes, apply motivational strategies, and understand basic nutrition concepts such as macronutrients, energy balance, and food label interpretation. By the end of the course, you will be equipped to instruct Pilates safely and professionally while promoting long-term health and movement success.

Students must possess a NQF level 4 or matric qualification or the equivalent thereof. Students do not require any prior experience in the field of health and fitness.
